Acupuncture Awareness Week - 25th February to 3rd March

Acupuncture Awareness Week is supported by the British Acupuncture Council and aims to help better inform people about the ancient practice of traditional acupuncture. With 2.3 million acupuncture treatments carried out each year, acupuncture is one of the most popular complementary therapies practised in the UK today. Yet despite its widely recognised health benefits many people only discover acupuncture as a last resort. (Introducing Acupuncture)

Acupuncture is the placement of needles through the skin for the treatment of a range of ailments. Originally an aspect of Traditional Chinese Medicine, practised by traditional acupuncturists, it has also developed as a western therapy.

Acupuncture should only be performed by a fully qualified therapist in safe and hygenic conditions.

For full details about this treatment and how it can be used, the NHS has further information available. Visit www.nhs.uk/conditions/Acupuncture

As with all treatments, a full consultation should be completed with your therapist to ensure that acupuncture is right for you.
